Explore multiple subjects and styles
10 weeks | 2.5 h / session
Discover the versatility and excitement of acrylic painting in this open-studio style course designed for beginner to intermediate adult artists. Instead of focusing on a single subject, students will explore a variety of themes and techniques — from landscapes and portraits to abstraction, still life, and imaginative compositions — all while developing their personal artistic style.
This course emphasizes foundational acrylic skills that can be applied across any subject matter. Through live demonstrations, individualized guidance, and hands-on studio time, students will deepen their understanding of:
- Colour theory and confident colour mixing
- Light, shadow, and atmospheric effects across various subjects
- Composition planning and visual storytelling
- Brushwork, texture, layering, and diverse acrylic techniques
- Working in realism, abstraction, or anything in between based on personal goals
Whether you’re building foundational skills or expanding your creative range, this open-studio environment provides the structure, flexibility, and constructive feedback needed to grow as an acrylic painter.
