• Youth & Teens → 6:30pm – 8:00pm (minimum age: 11 yrs old)

Painting is both a relaxing and stress-relieving activity. This workshop is designed for kids who love to create and want to discover new painting techniques. In this workshop, students will learn a variety of painting skills including: colour mixing, gradient blending, splatter, dry brushing, texture, and palette knife application.  By the end of the 8 sessions, students can expect to create 3 unique paintings: a sunset, galaxy and forest landscape. Both beginners and experienced young artists are welcome to join.

This workshop introduces students to the art of calligraphy and font making. We will explore a variety of letterings such as: calligraphy, print, and bubble letters. Students will review and learn how the Elements of Art/Principles of Design (i.e line, colour, space, balance, contract etc.) play a major role in Typography and Font Making. This course will also explore how to combine fonts and styles in order to create emotions and convey a message. Kids will use the techniques learned throughout the course in a final project to create their own unique work of art.  Teens and adults will create a mini artwork within each class, utilizing a variety of different surfaces and materials.

Get inspired to take your art to the next level in this digital illustration workshop.  Using the leading creative application, Procreate, you will be guided through the process of creating a variety of digital portraits and designs.  Build your digital technique by creating layers, using breakthrough brushes, colour blocking, and text elements.  Explore the many features and functions of this program through step-by-step demonstrations and continual feedback from our qualified instructor.

Let your imagination soar through an exploration of materials, ideas and emotions!  This workshop introduces students to a variety of de-stressing art techniques, such as: creating watercolor backgrounds, expressive ink pouring, pen and ink sketches, creative doodling, and bullet/gratitude journaling.  Students will discover the process of binding together a unique journal from start to finish.  Each session will focus on an exciting art technique that will be added into creative handmade journals.

DISCLAIMER: This workshop includes the use of scissors, hot glue and sewing needles. We recommend that children have parent/guardian supervision where needed.
