This workshop introduces students to the topic of calligraphy and the art of font making. This course will explore a variety of fonts such as calligraphy, print and bubble letters. Students will review and learn how elements of art, as well as principles of design (i.e line, colour, space, balance, contract etc…), play a huge role in Typography and Font Making. This course will also explore how to combine fonts and styles in order to create emotions and to convey a message. The techniques and topics learned in this course will culminate in a final work of art. This workshop is best suited for pre-teens, teens and adults. Students don’t need to have any experience in the subject – beginners are more than welcome.
