What is SHSM?
A Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM), which has been approved by the Ministry of Education, enables students to concentrate their learning on a particular economic sector while still fulfilling secondary school graduation requirements. While pursuing their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), students participating in a SHSM have access to a variety of individualized, career-focused learning opportunities.

PORTFOLIO PREPARATION & CRITIQUE*Includes Experiential Learning Component
Participants of this workshop will have an opportunity to draw from an engaging and unique still-life that will lend itself as a portfolio piece for a variety of program requirements. Students will leave this workshop with around 1-2 completed artworks to contribute to their portfolio. Feedback & Curation: Participants can expect to review successful examples of portfolios used to gain admission into a variety of post secondary arts programs. BRANDING & DIGITAL DESIGN
Packaging Re-Branding: Participants of this workshop will gain industry level insight of graphic design by rebranding existing products. In the process of this workshop, participants will learn the role Graphic Designers play in marketing and product design. Personal Branding: Participants of this workshop will learn the skills needed for creating professional assets that can be used to represent their personal businesses or future careers.
