Students will walk away from this workshop with…
- Proficient use of digital tools for character design via Procreate
- Understanding of character anatomy, proportions, and movement
- Techniques for creating unique character concepts and styles
- Skills in designing rotations to showcase characters in 360 degrees
- Completion of at least one character design project
- Tips for enhancing character depth and personality
- Strategies for using colour and texture effectively
Students are required to bring their own Apple tablet and pressure sensitive stylus to participate in this workshop. Students must purchase the Procreate software ($17.99) prior to registering via their app store. Click here to download for Apple devices.

Meet The Instructor
Vlad Ionescu | BFA, B.Ed, OCT
Vlad has been working as a professional artist and instructor for over 15 years with a wide variety of experiences in numerous professional fields and industries. As an artist he was trained in traditional drawing and oil painting and then moved into digital concept art and illustration as the art industries evolved. As a teacher, he has over 11 years of domestic and international teaching experience in both the private, public, and IB streams. He has traveled to South Korea to teach a wide range of subjects, including art, and founded his own art school with over 200 high school level students specializing in digital/traditional art, portfolio prep, figure illustration, and more. Throughout the years, Vlad has helped dozens of students achieve their goals of being accepted into college/university programs such as fine arts, animation, architecture, digital illustration, and concept art. Now, he continues to work as a professional, private, and freelance artist and instructor.
