how can we help?
Our sessions are made to develop and organize the portfolio of students applying to various Canadian and US colleges/universities as well as local art program high schools. We analyze and create a personalized program based on each student’s needs. Mentors are assigned to each student depending on the schedule chosen.
Our 1.5 hour initial assessment begins with a one on one interview with the student to review their existing artwork. This is followed by the student creating an observational drawing of still life which we use to quickly assess their drawing process, style, and creativity.
Over the course of their mentorship, students will be encouraged to create 10-12 pieces for their academic portfolio application and show personal development in the following areas:
– Observational Drawing (life drawing, studies of their pet, everyday objects)
– Self Portrait (using a mirror)
– Hand/Foot/Gesture Drawing
– Sketchbook work showing the creative process, thought process, visual journaling
– Artwork using a wide variety of mediums
– Creative process (design and multimedia courses) documentation may include journal, video, progress photos
– Individual artistic style development based on drawing and painting strengths exhibited through class exercises
– Traditional and Modern Techniques, Mixed Media Exploration
